The estate
Five centuries of stone,
and not a neighbour in sight
The house dates from the 16th century. It is listed by the French state as a monument historique, the national protection that governs what may be altered or built on the estate. Around it stand the old stables, in stone and brick, and a barn. The walled grounds run to 23 hectares (57 acres).
Marolles-sur-Seine sits an hour from Paris by the A5 motorway, exit 18, and twenty minutes from Fontainebleau.
Exclusive use
The whole estate,
and no one else on it
The estate is yours alone from Friday afternoon. Nothing else is booked that weekend – no other event on site, and nobody else’s running order to fit around. Nothing has to start on the hour.
There is no venue curfew here. The music does not have to stop at midnight, and no one will ask you to wind down. The house stands on its own in the middle of the grounds, so the evening ends when you decide it does. The estate is yours until midday on Sunday.

Six spaces
Where each part of the day happens
Up to 200 seated, or 300 standing. The rooms run from 60 to 240 m², some in the house, the rest in the old stables and outbuildings.
Main reception room
Salle Médicis
The biggest room in the house, and the one that stays open into the small hours. Dinner, speeches and dancing all happen in here.
Ceremony barn
Grange Henri II
Bare stone walls, the original oak roof frame. The Grange Henri II is a barn, and it is where celebrant-led ceremonies happen, a few steps from the château.
Bride’s dressing room
Boudoir Médicis
A small panelled room inside the château, kept for the bride and whoever she wants with her while she gets ready.
Optional second room
Salon Napoléon
A second reception room you can add to the hire, for the drinks reception or as somewhere for the children during the evening.
Stable-yard terrace
Terrasse des Écuries
Old stone and brick stables on one side, open grounds on the other. Drinks are served out here when the weather holds.

Outdoor ceremonies, couple portraits, entertainment, even a hot-air balloon. 57 acres, and the wall runs the whole way round.

Five timber lodges stand in the grounds, with beds for 45 guests, shower rooms and kitchenettes. The dancing is a short walk away. From the door in the morning you look straight at the house. The lodges are booked on top of the estate hire.
If 45 beds are not enough, a dormitory and extra tents can go up in the grounds. And the estate stays yours until midday on Sunday, so everyone sits down to brunch before anyone leaves.
The table
The caterer we work with, or your own
We work with Maison Depreytere. They have been in the business for more than forty years, and every menu is written around what your guests can and cannot eat, vegan diets included. You can bring a caterer of your own instead, subject to conditions.

Arriving by carriage
The estate’s own draught horses pull the carriage up through the grounds, as far as the main gates.
A night in the lodges
Five timber lodges in the grounds, beds for 45 guests, and a dormitory or extra tents if your numbers run higher.
The Salon Napoléon
The second reception room, taken on top of the hire. It suits the drinks reception, or the children once the evening runs long.

What couples want to know first
How late can the music go on?
As late as you like. There is no venue curfew, because the house stands alone inside its own walled grounds and no other event is booked that weekend. The estate is yours until midday on Sunday.
How many guests can we have?
Up to 200 seated, or 300 standing, across rooms of 60 to 240 m². Ceremonies, drinks and photographs also happen outside, in 57 acres of walled grounds.
Where do our guests sleep?
Five timber lodges in the grounds sleep 45 people, with beds, shower rooms and kitchenettes. A dormitory and extra tents can go up as well if you need more room.
Are the lodges part of the estate hire?
They’re booked on top of it. One lodge for a night is €550 incl. tax. All five together are €2,450 incl. tax, and the rate per person is €54.
Can we use our own caterer?
Yes, subject to conditions. The caterer we work with is Maison Depreytere, more than forty years in the business, and they write menus around dietary restrictions and intolerances, vegan included.
Is there time for brunch on the Sunday?
Yes. Exclusive use runs until midday on Sunday, which leaves the whole morning for brunch at the house.
